The theme builder lets you save a reusable design baseline inside SlideAdmin. Use it to keep presentation appearance consistent as content changes. You do not need to prepare a Google Slides theme file first; creating custom themes requires eligible plan access.
Name your theme
- Open Themes in the editor.
- Choose Add Custom Theme.
- Enter a recognizable name, such as “Product launch” or “Customer training”.
- Choose Next.
Choose a starting point
Choose Current document snapshot to use the open document’s appearance as your starting point, or Blank theme for a neutral design. Continue to the customization step.
A document snapshot is a design starting point. It does not make the Doc’s content part of every future presentation using the theme.
Customize representative layouts
Review the builder’s title slide, section header, main point, title-and-cards, and full-media examples. Select elements in these previews to adjust supported appearance settings.
Check fonts, colors, backgrounds, card styling, and image placement across all examples. Choose a consistent design rather than styling only the first preview.
Save and use the theme
Choose Create theme and wait for confirmation. The newly created theme is selected for the open document. Review your real slide content, then generate or sync when ready.
If creation fails, check your plan access and connection before retrying. Avoid closing the builder while a save is in progress.
See Edit and manage custom themes for updating an existing design.
