A managed presentation is a Google Slides deck linked to its source Google Doc through SlideAdmin. Create it once, then review source changes and sync updates to the same deck when ready.
Prepare the previews
- Open the source Doc in SlideAdmin.
- Use Refresh after editing the Google Doc.
- Check the slide content, order, notes, and presentation boundaries.
- Choose the theme and finish the appearance settings.
- Check any content filters in Settings before generating.
If the Doc contains multiple presentations, confirm which presentations the action will include.
Generate the output
Use Generate and wait for the completion message. Avoid repeating the action while it is running. SlideAdmin creates the output and saves its Google Slides link with the source presentation.
Open the managed deck from the resulting presentation controls. Review text, images, charts, and notes in Google Slides before sharing. The generated deck is a Google Drive file with its own sharing permissions.
Understand the link
The link allows later updates from the Doc and slide previews to the same output deck. It is not a two-way editing connection: changes made directly in Google Slides are not imported back into the Doc by syncing.
Each managed Google Slides deck counts once toward managed presentation capacity. Repeatedly syncing it does not consume another capacity slot. If generation is blocked, check Account for plan access and available capacity.
For later edits, see Update a managed presentation.
