When generation or sync fails, keep the source and saved tracking information intact while checking the cause. Start with the error message and whether output was created or partly updated.
Check the prerequisites
- Confirm the app has finished the previous action.
- Refresh the previews and review the intended presentation selection.
- Check Account for feature access and managed presentation capacity.
- Open the source Doc and managed output deck with the same Google account.
- Verify the file permissions required for the action.
- Check access to any Google Slides-backed custom theme.
If the action failed or timed out
Record the error, then check whether the output deck exists and which slides changed. Resolve the reported access or capacity problem before retrying. Avoid repeatedly generating new output without checking the existing link.
For a missing output file, check Google Drive trash and whether another owner changed its sharing. For an expired session, reconnect and reopen the document.
If the output looks outdated
Editing the Doc or styling a preview does not update Google Slides automatically. Refresh the source and run the intended sync action. Confirm that you opened the managed output rather than an older copy with a similar name.
If you synced only one slide, other slides remain unchanged until separately synced.
Before a full retry
Review what syncing overwrites. Full sync rebuilds output from the previews and can remove manually added slides. Preserve manual edits in a copy first.
If the failure persists, send a diagnostic support request.
